The 2018 Women’s World Cup team set for Precision Field Hockey.
This set uses the “hybrid” set rule amendments. Please note that the “66”-rule for goal scorers as in the base ruleset does apply for this set. Also, check the schedule sheet for details on how to conduct shootouts if knockout round games are tied after regulation time.
The Netherlands retained their title from their home World Cup four years previously as they routed their opponents 35-3 in their six matches. Their closest game was a shootout win in the semi-finals after drawing 1-1 with Australia. The surprise team was Ireland, who made their first final before succumbing to a 6-0 defeat. Despite coming closest to stopping the Dutch, Australia would end without a medal after losing the bronze medal match 3-1 to Spain, who in turn claimed their best-ever finish.
